What does the name mean?
More people are being trafficked in the world today than at any other time in history. The US State Department estimates there are more than 27 million men, women, and children around the world who are victims of modern day slavery, including entrapment in the bonded labor and sex trade. The number 27 is disheartening, but it also motivated us to act. Our hope is to spread awareness, and inspire people to do something to combat this issue.
What do you stand for?
Our goal is to spread love through the making of our products, and to fight slavery one soap bar at a time. We stand for love, justice, and the empowerment of survivors. In addition to spreading awareness, we want to enrich lives. Simply put, we desire to help transform the world one person at a time, and we believe a bar of soap can be used as a catalyst for change.
How do you plan to end slavery one soap bar at a time?
We employ survivors of trafficking and at-risk women, and provide them sustainable employment through our microbusiness program and Agape International Missions vocational training center. Along with teaching the women business and marketing skills, we also encourage them to be creative and define their own brand. Rather than allowing poverty to drive them to desperate means, your purchase of our products provides them this alternate employment opportunity. One life at a time, we are committed to doing our part to decrease the 27 million.
